The newly owned Country Inn Lansing is looking to hire a front desk clerk for our soon-to-be renovated hotel!
A front desk is responsible for the attending to guest needs, checking in and checkout out guests, maintaining and understanding housekeeping room status, and taking and receiving reservation inquiries.
There is room to grow within the company!
Experience:
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Review arrivals nothing special requests, blocking rooms as needed.
- Check in and out hotel guests in a confident, professional and friendly manner.
- Answer all phone calls promptly and knowledgeably, always ensuring complete and accurate information.
- Manage online and phone reservations
- Complete all items in appropriate (AM, PM, Overnight) checklist by end of shift.
- Work well under pressure, dealing with many arrivals and departures within a short period of time.
- Able to accommodate a flexible schedule that may include any shift, weekends and/or holidays
- Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
- Register guests collecting necessary information
- Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
- Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities
- Respond to clients ‘complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Communicate with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean. Communicate with other departments in a friendly and professional manner
- Accurately communicate with other shifts regarding issues arising from day to day operations
- Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services
- Follow set policies at all times
- Be aware of local attractions and restaurants and make recommendations to guests
- Reliable transportation

- Use suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms/up sell and to promote other services of the hotel.
- Coordinate room status updates with the housekeeping department by notification housekeeping of all checkouts, late checkouts, early check-ins, special requests, and day use rooms.
- Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager
- Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area
- Other Requirements
- Require strong organizational skills.
- Able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Must meet grooming standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
