Job Summary
Country Kids, Inc. a private pediatric therapy practice is looking for a part-time Patient Account/Billing Specialist to join our team. We are looking for a candidate with 2 years' experience with medical billing and working with insurance companies. Knowledge of Medicaid and the Forward Health Portal is desired as well as a proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. Will be answering phones and working with families to complete the patient intake process. Associate degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and DRG systems.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
- Review patient records for completeness and accuracy before billing.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies with insurance providers.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their billing inquiries and payment options.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper coding and documentation practices.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies.
