Instructional Design Program Director Responsibilities :
General Management
Leads the SLU team in developing successful overall business strategy, e-commerce strategy, web management and content management.
Communicates and upholds the policies of Country Meadows. Ensures compliance with the regulations of all licensing authorities, including state regulators and CMS.
Develops strategies, delivers effective training and evaluates results toward the defined goals.
Works with various managers, SMEs, trainers and freelancers in the continued development of the corporate vision of maximizing content creation and distribution to the larger senior living industry.
Motivates the staff to perform consistent, quality work and maintains high co-worker satisfaction through regular communication, individual coaching, celebration of achievement, and learning from mistakes.
Ongoing awareness and analysis of the eLearning industry. Understands emerging trends, existing technology-based learning options, and emerging technology standards.
Coordinates the ongoing management and enhancement of the SLU Anytime Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure an optimal experience for customers.
Manages contract negotiations with LMS and other outside vendors
Business Development
Creates and executes business development plans.
Recommends new avenues for advertising and PR to engage new audiences with the brand.
Conducts sales meetings with prospective clients and follows up to advance and close sale.
Confidently presents concepts and ideas in small or large group settings to both internal and external customers.
Ensures that the website SEO and functionality are optimized to allow for a positive customer experience. Writes or edits blog posts to increase SEO.
Creates advertising and marketing materials in partnership with vendors or in-house advertising teams
Solidifies value proposition messaging around brand.
Explores relationships with other post-acute and clinical eLearning providers to determine opportunities for co-selling and revenue share
Considers the value of free educational webinars, YouTube or TikTok videos presented by in house experts to draw new customers.
Manages strategy for social media and web promotions
Mystery shops competition on a regular basis
Understands the relationship with NAB and builds networks with RC / AL licensed states to expand the use of the Admin Manual for Administrator licensure.
Networks through advocacy groups to increase partnership opportunities
Seek opportunities for CEUs and CEU partnership offerings with state organizations
Host biannual partner meetings with and frequently survey major customers to ensure satisfaction with products
Content Creation
Following a systems approach to training development, gains understanding of desired outcomes and performance goals, evaluates current practices / knowledge, recommends strategies to support learning which transfers to performance.
Develops training targeted to meet identified industry needs and goals. Uses a variety of methods to deliver training (i.e. live via webinar, recorded webinar, eLearning, on-line resources, mobile learning, train the trainer, mentoring, manuals checklists, etc.), choosing appropriate effective training modes and considering resource use and cost.
Manages creation of new content on at least a monthly basis
Builds relationships across the organization and collaborates to utilize all available resources for content creation
Writes new course material, scripts and trainings.
Brings material into compliance with federal CMS SNF guidelines (and state where applicable) to expand customer reach beyond ALFs.
Expands abilities within Anytime portal to include videos, articles, in person training, custom career paths and a standardized onboarding to these features.
Oversees and participates in the development of e-learning courses for SLU, including script writing, directing video, and editing eLearning and hard products.
Utilizes archived materials to revive best practices and share across the industry
Ensures that SLU develops new materials and offerings on at least a monthly basis
Develops strategic timeline for updating of current hard and eLearning products
Determines best way to offer products to customers for one time use (video, you tube link, etc).
Instructional Design Program Director Qualifications :
B.S. in Education, Instructional Design, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience. M.Ed. or M.S. in Distance Learning, Instructional Design a plus.
A minimum of 5-7 years of business experience in training, education or management / information technology consulting. Experience should include working across functions and levels and supporting clients, internal or external.
Experience creating and managing online learning environments.
Experience using learning management systems.
Proficient with a variety of technology hardware, software, and online resources.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven ability to manage and lead a multi-faceted initiative successfully and independently.
Solid business skills in financial management, strategic planning, organizational development and marketing.
Knowledge of senior living trends, regulations, and compliance across various states.
An understanding of adult education learning principles and suitable delivery methods.
Marketing experience and strong networking skills and relationships in the senior living industry.
Lifelong learner who stays aware of changing regulatory environment and trends in healthcare innovation.
