Weston is seeking to hire a Learning Assistant to provide academic, social, and behavioral support to students in collaboration with the classroom teachers at Country Elementary School. This is a regular role, 7 hours per day (6.5 a 30 minute unpaid lunch), Monday-Friday, when school is in session (180 days with students and two professional development days over a full school year), reporting to the School Principal. About the Weston Public SchoolsThe Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 9-12, a middle school for grades 6-8, an upper elementary school for grades 4-5, and two lower elementary schools for pre-kindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) - a voluntary school integration program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 167 students (K-12).

- Use appropriate applied behavior, teaching, communication, and reinforcement techniques consistently
- Complete all required documentation and data collection
- Provide individual and small group instruction
- Assist the teacher in devising strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding individual student needs, interests and abilities
- Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal
- Bachelor's degree
- Teaching experience preferred, ideally in a diverse public school setting
- Experience working with students with special needs, behavior background preferred
- Competent with technology, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom
The Learning Assistant salary range is $31,216.29 - $38,504.52 (over the course of a full school year), or $26.39 - $32.55 per hour.
