ABOUT THE JOB
Our agronomy division works to improve crop production, manage costs and increase yields in support of organic & conventional agriculture. We offer a full range of products and services, including crop protection products, dry and liquid fertilizer, turf and ornamental products, seed, custom application services, corn planting, crop burning and side dressing.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Implement agronomy department policies, goals, objectives, and procedures
- Coordinate activities and staffing between locations and departments as needed
- Hire, develop, evaluate, coach and retain staff.
- Supervise, train and lead others to ensure exceptional customer service and product knowledge
- Motivate, develop and direct people. Identify & schedule training to maximize staff knowledge and provide cross training between employees.
- Manage inventory to most efficiently service customers while controlling shrink
- Analyze and interpret financial and inventory reports
- Coordinate the regular maintenance of the facility
- Conduct monthly staff meetings for safety and training
- Collaborate with local business, events, organizations and individuals in a positive productive way
- Communicate with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources
- Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Exhibit a high level of product knowledge in crop nutrients, chemicals and commercial farming operations
- 2 years prior experience supervising, leading, developing and coaching personnel
- Knowledge of business and management principles, leadership and coordination of people and resources
- Strong organizational, leadership, multi-tasking, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize, organize and accomplish goals by developing and communicating with staff
- Demonstrate proficiency with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds
- Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree in agribusiness, business administration, management or similar field of study
- 3 years’ experience managing agricultural (or similar) operations
HOURS / DAYS / SCHEDULE
This is a full time, salaried position (schedule may vary). 45 hours/week. Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to extended hours, evenings and/or weekends as needed, especially during times of high seasonal demand.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Annual base salary: $80,000 - $100,000. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
