JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and consult customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
- Demonstrate and explain merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for customers’ needs.
- Answer customers questions about merchandise and assist customers with purchase decisions.
- Accurately complete sales using the POS system according to established procedures.
- Organize and effectively merchandise items for sale.
- Stock and rotate product.
- Assist in keeping the store clean.
- Assemble and organize products and displays.
- Assist customers with loading and unloading products as needed.
- Process returns and exchanges.
- Utilize customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales generating skills.
- Develop positive work relationships with other staff. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information.
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills, including navigating websites and receiving/sending emails.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Product knowledge preferred in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, horse/equine, hardware, fencing, lawn & garden supplies, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, or wild bird supplies.
SCHEDULE
Part-time, typically 24-32 hours per week (schedule may vary). Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$17.25 - $19.80/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
