JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and interact with customers
- Organize and effectively merchandise items for sale
- Consult with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise
- Demonstrate and explain merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customers’ needs
- Assist customers with purchase decisions
- Utilize customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales generating skills
- Accurately complete sales using the point-of-sale system according to established procedures
- Process returns and exchanges
- Monitor all merchandise for correct location assignments, accurate and clean bin labels, expired products, and stock rotation
- Assist customers by loading and unloading products as needed
- Maintain product stock in the store and warehouse
- Assemble products and displays
- Dispense propane and kerosene
- Safely operate a forklift
- Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Proven track record of being dependable and reliable.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to excellence & high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in a retail setting
- Product knowledge preferred in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, horse/equine, hardware, fencing, lawn & garden supplies, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, or wild bird supplies.
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$17.25 - $19.80/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
