What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitorial & Sales Floor position at Country Supplier?
As a valued member of the Country Supplier team, this role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our C-A-L Ranch Store location. In addition to ensuring a clean and safe environment, you will also be selling merchandise to individual customers by performing a variety of tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the store's appearance by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming hallways, stairs, and office spaces, as well as buffing the sales floor and emptying trash and garbage containers.
- Perform general building maintenance, notifying management of any needed repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
- Clean snow and debris from sidewalks and perform lawn maintenance, including mowing lawns and other exterior tasks.
- Greet customers on the sales floor in a friendly and enthusiastic manner, determining their needs and preferences for merchandise.
- Work primarily in one department on the sales floor but may be required to assist in other areas.
- Engage with customers and drivers in a friendly and professional manner, enjoying conversations and providing excellent customer service.
- Display merchandise, suggest suitable products, and emphasize their features and benefits.
- Restock shelves, ensure accurate pricing, and maintain an organized display of merchandise.
- Use our database to research product availability and operate computer systems for price checking, inventory management, and label printing.
- Effectively communicate the C-A-L Ranch Credit Card Program to customers.
- Reorder merchandise from the stockroom, process payments, and generate new credit cards as needed.
- Take inventory of stock and assist in training new associates or other employees.
- Be physically present at the C-A-L Ranch Store and adhere to regular attendance requirements.
Physical Demands
- Lift and move objects up to 50 pounds regularly, occasionally assisting with heavier items using hand trucks and additional assistance.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to succeed in this role.
