Approved Medication Assistive Personnel (AMAP)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing quality care to patients in various settings, including hospitals, acute care facilities, home community care, and memory care environments. This position requires a strong understanding of medication administration and patient support, ensuring that all individuals receive the highest standard of care.

Duties

• Administer medications to patients as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
• Assist with catheter care and other personal hygiene needs of patients.
• Monitor and document patient responses to medications and report any adverse reactions to nursing staff.
• Provide compassionate support to patients in hospice care and memory care settings.
• Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to all health regulations.
• Educate patients and their families about medication management and health maintenance.

Experience

• Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with home community care practices is an asset.
• Knowledge of physiology and anatomy is essential for effective patient care.
• Experience in hospice care or memory care environments is highly desirable.
• Certification as a Medication Aide is required, along with any relevant state licensure.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team are essential for success in this role.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
