What are the responsibilities and job description for the Feed Mill Maintenance Manager position at COUNTRY VIEW FAMILY FARMS LLC?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Repair and maintenance management
- Ensure preventative maintenance SOP are developed and followed (Continuous Improvement process)
- Complete preventative maintenance activities on schedule and as per SOPs (Complete department Checklists)
- Communicate / coordinate repairs at feed mill (Scope out Work Orders, Schedule Work, Assign Work Orders (Incl. PMs)
- Manage repair budgets for feed mill
- Responsible for Change / Work Order forms and acquiring approval for work
- Investigations for critical failures
- Maintaining facility maintenance budgets
- Troubleshooting facility and repair issues
Project Management
- Participate in the Feed Mill capital expenditures to approval process
- Identify facility capital expenditures for Feed Mill (Recommend Capital repairs and purchases)
- Develop capital budgets for Feed Mill proposed projects
- Assist with Submitting Feed Mill capital projects
- Oversight of construction schedules for Feed Mil
- Act as capital projects construction manager
- Manage, monitor, and close feed mill construction projects
- Capital expenditure
Training
- Train and coach to processes for consistent application and ensure cross training is active
- Ensure processes for Team Members is consistent (Interact daily with operations supervisors across shifts
- Facilitate training for maintenance staff (Ensure new team members are trained and Coordinate TM technical training)
- Performance Management
- Vendor Management
- Participate in vendor selection
- Participate in vendor contract discussions and negotiations
- Participate in negotiate equipment and ventilation pricing
- Communicate biosecurity policies to vendors
- Participate in vendor product selection
QUALIFICATIONS:
- You have a High School Diploma or a General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong Electrical and PLC background preferred
- General Mechanical experience required. Certifications in any of these areas is a plus
- You are multi-task oriented and a team player.
- You have the ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can physically be standing on your feet a majority of the day with the ability to lift 75 lbs.
- You are able to tolerate a livestock farming environment, which may include cold and hot temperatures, dust, odors, and frequently noisy conditions.
- You are available to work a flex schedule, with some weekends and holiday work required.

- Moving/ Traversing: The person in this position needs to frequently move around the production areas of the mill and will be moving/ traversing more than 85% of the time to attend to needs of the plant.
- Operating/ Inspecting/ Placing/ Positioning: Frequently is using tools to work on/repair/improve equipment and testing that equipment to ensure proper function
- Ascend/ Descend/ Traverse: Frequently ascends/ descends stairs & ladders to work atop equipment and provide routine maintenance.
- Position Self to Move: Frequently positions self to complete tasks by reaching under/ around equipment to reach grease perks, take temperatures, reach bolts/nuts.
- Communicate/ Detect/ Identify/ Exchange Information: Constant visual & audio monitoring of equipment. Shares information regarding possible issues with management to create a plan of action.
- Move/ Transport/ Install/ Remove: Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally moves equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, rarely moves equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. Frequently transports equipment/ materials through various areas of the feed mill weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Work Environment: Frequent exposure to loud noises, dirty/ dusty environments, hot and cold temperatures, outdoor environments, grease and oil.
