Title I /31A Paraprofessional (K-8th Grade) Job Description
Countryside Academy
REPORTS TO: Building Principal (immediate supervisor assigned classroom teacher)
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Title I/31A Duties along with general fund duties (i.e. lunch/recess duty, arrival/dismissal duties) Must complete PARS log.
Instructional responsibilities:
- Provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for math and/or reading services in individual, and/or small group settings that is directed from the classroom teacher.
- Uses identified needs to guide the learning process toward student achievement of district’s reading and/or math content standards.
- Uses a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities to support content standards and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers
- Provides evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, administrative guidelines, or specific program requirements.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Student supervision responsibilities:
- Be on time to assigned duty location
- Be fully present during duty time
- Report any necessary issues or concerns to the classroom teacher or building principal
- Suggest any necessary changes or modifications to classroom teacher or building principal
