We are searching for an experienced veterinary technician to join our two-doctor team. In addition to the responsibilities and qualifications listed below, the right candidate will share our why and possess a hunger to leverage their skills, knowledge and expertise to the fullest in our small animal department.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Assist veterinarians in medical and surgical procedures, including physical examinations, surgeries, dental procedures, and immunizations.
· Collect and record patient histories, vital signs, and weights.
· Perform laboratory tests such as blood draws, urinalysis, and fecal exams.
· Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
· Monitor anesthesia and assist during surgical procedures.
· Provide nursing care for injured or ill animals.
· Educate clients on proper at-home care, including diet and exercise recommendations.
Qualifications:
· Strong understanding of veterinary terminology and procedures.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to handle and restrain various animal species safely.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
· Ability to work well in high-pressure and emergency situations.
