Assistant Montessori Teacher Job Duties
- Classroom Support:
- Assist the lead teacher in preparing and maintaining an organized, clean, and stimulating learning environment.
- Help set up Montessori materials and activities in accordance with the curriculum plan.
- Observe and support children during their independent learning, ensuring appropriate use of materials.
- Child Guidance and Supervision:
- Monitor and guide children's behavior in a positive and respectful manner.
- Foster independence, concentration, and self-discipline in line with Montessori principles.
- Assist with conflict resolution and problem-solving among students.
- Observation and Assessment:
- Document children's developmental progress and behaviors.
- Share observations with the lead teacher to tailor individualized learning plans.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain respectful and professional communication with parents, staff, and students.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with other educators to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by maintaining a secure environment.
- Assist children with personal needs, including hygiene and snack preparation.
- Respond to emergencies according to school protocols.
- Administrative Support:
- Help maintain records, attendance, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Assist with organizing classroom materials, supplies, and resources.
- Special Projects and Events:
- Support the preparation and execution of school events and special projects.
- Assist with field trips, celebrations, and parent workshops as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for child development and learning.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.81 - $13.51 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- After school
- Monday to Friday
- No nights
- No weekends
