What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Pastor position at Countryside United Brethren Church?
The core function of the youth pastor is to build meaningful relationships with youth and provide support for both them and their families as they grow in Christ with the intent to integrate them into the larger body of believers as they become older. This will be accomplished through five key actions.
· Prayer
· Study
· Preaching the word effectively for the age
· Fostering relationship opportunities
· Creating and executing activities that teach basic Christian beliefs (prayer, study, serving, missional mindset, and evangelism).
The Youth Pastor will also be responsible with meeting with the Lead Pastor on a regular basis (to be determined based on schedules) for accountability, prayer, mutual study, and support. They will also work towards fostering relationships that extend beyond the youth group so that they become truly a part of the congregation. Another non-tangible responsibility will be to care for their family and marriage, being sure to cultivate healthy boundaries and time frames of work.
Expectations:
· To spend a set amount of time towards work for the church (to be determined based on pay)
· Participate in weekly worship
· Develop support staff and workers
· Take intentional time off for self-care (communicated with Lead Pastor)
· If seeking pastoral licensing, working with denomination to meet requirements
· Maintain integrity and trust of both youth and parents with clear communication
· Reports appropriate information to legal authorities as mandated
· Compliant with “Reducing the Risk” guidelines
· Work with schools to cultivate relationships
· Maintains confidentiality as appropriate
· Supports the mission, vision, and guiding principles of the United Brethren in Christ Church
· Holds at least two outreaches per year
· Prepare monthly board reports outlining activities, updates, and plans
· Prepare a yearly budget report
· Attends monthly board meetings

Pay: $20,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
