Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory work.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Monitor animal patients pre- and post-surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Implement aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures.
- Provide education to pet owners about animal care, nutrition, and health maintenance.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their well-being during visits.
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology and veterinary critical care practices.
- Proficiency in animal handling techniques, particularly with dogs and other common pets.
- Applicant must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary medicine.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician is highly desirable but not mandatory.
