POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician ensures effective physical facility operation and maintenance of the complex of facilities and grounds including Countrysides main campus, Landen and other offsite locations. Perform routine and preventative maintenance per maintenance schedule
EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or technical/trade school with 1 years of experience in facility maintenance.
- Prior experience in skilled trades such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing and HVAC
- Must submit to and pass a Criminal History Background Check
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform major/minor repairs and installations on systems and equipment such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, boilers, controls, swimming pools etc.
- Perform routine maintenance/ inspections on systems and equipment per maintenance calendar.
- Complete work orders as assigned by Department Director
- Assist Department Director in securing bids for work required by outside contractors
- Assist in the ordering, stocking and inventory of parts and supplies
- Keep tools and equipment in proper working order
- Project a professional image at all times by wearing staff identification
- Adhere to all OSHA and Safety Regulations and training requirements
- Build member relationships and respond to member and staff concerns respectfully
- Assist the housekeeping staff in maintaining facility cleanliness and enhancement
- Other duties as assigned and required by business necessity
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools.
- Verbal and written communication skills required to interface effectively with members and fellow staff
- Ability to learn and operate within the maintenance tracking system software
- Safely operate equipment and tools in compliance with OSHA standards
- Must be able to respond to emergency/on-call situations, ability to communicate via phone/text and person to person communication
- Must be able to work and respond calmly in stressful situations
- Must be able to work independently and also part of a team
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical ability to handle heavy equipment; move/push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds of project materials
- Ability to stand on scaffolding, ladders, and platforms; work at heights for extended periods of time as required.
- Work with chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, paint and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms.
- Ability to clean equipment, and operate motorized equipment as needed
- Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
- Perform tasks related to maintenance tickets which could require semi reaching to full-reach overhead; couching; kneeling; working in narrow and/or confining spaces: underground, overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back.
