Job Summary
Performs walking and mobile patrol functions. Assists motorists with vehicle lock-outs and jumpstarts. Completes building openings and closings. Transports financial transactions as required from various departments. Completes bank run to local banks. Conducts parking and traffic enforcement and issues summonses when warranted. Completes incident and accident reports and submits them to the Director of Public Safety. Provides vehicle escorts to the inner campus. Assists local, state and federal agencies with criminal, motor vehicle and other applicable enforcement actions. (SG 4 15%) Conducts cardio pulmonary resuscitation and AED lifesaving applications until the arrival of emergency units. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Public Safety. Qualifications - Education High school diploma or its equivalent. Valid driver’s license. Qualifications - Experience At least 2 years of security, military of other closely related experience involving security and / or safety. Qualifications - Skills Must be physically capable of performing all of the topics identified in the job description. Must share a fair and equal part of departmental overtime. Must have good reading, writing, communication skills and computer literacy. Must have good customer relation skills. A willingness to work on any of the three shifts. The ability to respond in a timely fashion to unanticipated campus emergencies or interruptions to normal security functions when off duty. Work Hours Security officers are scheduled for various shifts, covering 24 hours a day 7 days a week. These shifts include weekends, midnight’s and holidays. This is a part time position that could require up to and including 24.5 hours per week.
