We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and experiencedUrgent Care Health Care Assistant who has a valid UK driving licence.
Our Urgent Treatment Centres treat a wide variety of illnessand injury across all age ranges. The HCA will work in a supporting role,providing high quality patient centred care under the supervision of the UrgentCare Practitioners and General Practitioners.
The Urgent Care Service also provides home visits by ourclinicians who require a Healthcare Assistant / Driver to transport them topatient homes across County Durham, and provide HCA support during visits.
In addition our HCA will provide a patient transport serviceto support patient access to Urgent Treatment Centre appointments as requiredand following risk assessment by a clinician.
Main duties of the job
The HCA will carry out routine HCAduties, recording observations, taking blood and urine samples, monitoringand escorting patients under the supervision of the managing clinician.
The role also involves performingECG recordings, carrying out minor dressings and applying immobilisationtechniques such as splints plaster-of-paris back slabs.
Other duties also include stockchecks and restocking consulting rooms and home visiting car as well as performingcar checks.
Training will be provided as required.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
