Job summary
Thepost holder will work with minimal supervision and will be designated to takecharge
of the ward / department inthe absence of the ward manager; who holds continuing responsibility
Main duties of the job
Thepost holder will assist the ward manager in the smooth delivery of a highstandard of care to those patients with repsiratory illnesses.
Alongside their RGN rolethey will also be responsible for managing staff in terms of recruitment,sickness monitoring, educational needs, learning events and any disciplinaryactions.
They will also beresponsible for answering any safeguarding concerns and putting actions inplace to learn form these incidents.
Auditting will be part ofthe role also and giving feedback following these.
Service improvement ideaswill be explored and actioned if appropriate.
Key responsibilities willinclude the development, implementation and evaluation of programmesof care, effective leadership and staff management / development.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
