POSITION SUMMARY: The Bakery Production Clerk will work within the Bakery Department by providing our valued customers with fresh bakery to include breads, rolls, doughnuts, muffins, cookies, cakes and other pastries. All duties will be performed in a manner that will help achieve the Medford Cooperative’s mission and goals.
Principal Duties
- Serve customers throughout the store while modeling a service-oriented culture and providing “best in class” customer service, which includes, greeting, engaging, and thanking every guest for their business.
- Promote positive culture and ensure effective communication
- Reports to work at the assigned/scheduled time and may be required to fill in as needed in other customer facing roles
- Follow the production schedule to determine quantity and variety of goods to bake based on Bakery Manager’s recommendations.
- Properly bake, package and price baked product to sell to our customers.
- Ensure that the bakery department is always full and fresh with the best quality products.
- Use all equipment in the bakery including refrigerators, freezers, ovens, proofers, mixers, etc. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and procedures.
- Walk department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary, and overall clean appearance at all times.
- Assist as requested to create attractive department displays and end caps based on specific sales for the week.
- Provide consistent, timely and friendly customer service when answering questions, making recommendations and promoting products through suggestive selling.
- Reports to work at the assigned/scheduled time and may be required to fill in as needed in other customer facing roles
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required:
- HS Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Food Safety Certification required within 90 days of employment
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Friendly, courteous, service-oriented attitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to accommodate a fluctuating schedule, including weekend and holiday shifts
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, stand, reach, pull and lift overhead.
- Fast-paced environment requiring standing during your entire shift
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Smoke-free environment.
- This position is primarily indoors but at times may be exposed to heat/cool outdoor temperatures as well as when entering coolers.
