What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Therapist position at County of Adams?
Performs intermediate-advanced human support work providing ongoing individual and group psychotherapy and addiction counseling services for clients, implementing policies and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of services and conforms to all regulations and statutes, conducting assessments, developing and implementation person-centered treatment plans, assessing crisis needs and providing client advocacy, and related work as apparent or assigned.
- Utilizes a trauma-informed approach to provide counseling services and/or addiction therapy to individuals and groups including crisis management.
- Conducts diagnostic and DOT assessments including required paperwork.
- Manages electronic health record entries including treatment plans, case notes, and discharges.
- Participates in staffing and supervision; attends team meetings.
- Assists with and coordinates the provision of services to clients in crisis or emergency situations as required; respond to crisis or emergency calls.
- Participates in the after-hours mobile and on-call crisis system.
- Serves as contact for the Health and Human Services Department relative to assigned external agencies, programs, or services and represents the department at professional meetings and community events as required.
- Consults and receives supervision from other professional staff within the agency.
