What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker III (Public Works) - Full-time position at County of Armstrong?
This position is 40 hours per week at $15.80 per hour. Hours may vary.
Overall Responsibilities:
To perform general maintenance duties within and around the buildings and grounds of the County and to provide general repair and maintenance work for County vehicles.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Provides maintenance duties as required. Stocks department supplies. Checks gauges and other equipment for proper operation, and makes minor adjustments if necessary. Makes rounds to ensure safety within buildings. Collects trash and recyclables. Transports materials to/from proper departments. Changes pumps and motors as needed. Checks air conditioning and refrigeration units and charges as necessary. Installs equipment as needed. Cuts and trims grass, shovels or plows snow as needed. Performs general plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning repairs. Makes repairs to damaged equipment. Operates power equipment and hand tools. Paints required fixtures, buildings and other objects as directed. Performs carpentry duties as assigned. Checks vehicles and equipment for proper operation and makes minor repairs and adjustments as necessary. Performs general mechanic work on County vehicles and equipment. Performs preventive maintenance in accordance with prepared schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
High school diploma or equivalent, plus trade school training in electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting preferred. Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Records Check.
WORK EXPERIENCE
2 – 4 years working experience in maintenance or mechanic environment. Must have experience with plumbing and electrical repairs and construction.
