What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper - Fort Roberdeau position at County of Blair?
We are searching for a part-time, seasonal groundskeeper who contributes to successful achievement of Fort Roberdeau’s mission by enhancing visitor experience; greets visitors; and assists with daily operations on site, including maintenance, custodial services, and office administrative duties. Repairs and maintains buildings and grounds by performing wide range of duties, including minor carpentry, heating, electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair and replacement. Clears debris from trails, ditches, gutters, sidewalks, roadways as needed. Sets up furniture, cones, signs, canopies for special events or tours; works in concessions stand as needed. Opens and closes Fort and park buildings and grounds as required. Ensures restrooms and kitchen areas as clean and public-ready. Disposes of litter, empties trash, restocks toiletries, etc.
Qualified applicants will hold a high school diploma or GED; a minimum of two years' work experience and hands-on experience in grounds keeping, landscaping, construction work, maintenance, or other directly related field; knowledge of variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques; knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for maintenance and repair of hard and soft surfaces; keen attention to details, diligence, initiative, and pride in work done well.
Starting wage for this nonexempt seasonal position is $15.16/hour not to exceed 419 hours/season. Benefits package does not apply to this title. Applicants must have PA State Police criminal background check (Act 34 clearance), federal criminal history record (Act 114), and PA child abuse history clearance (ACT 151) at time of hire, and valid PA driver's license with reliable transportation.
