POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs the parcel verification process for all documents being recorded in the Recorder of Deeds office and provides assistance to other areas of the office when needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with counter work when requested and communicates in person and by telephone with other departments and the public to expedite information and answer questions regarding the parcel certification process.

Certify documents being recorded in the Recorder of Deeds office with the proper tax parcel number(s) consistent with the requirements of the Uniform Parcel Identifier Ordinance.
- Verify the accuracy of documents being recorded in the Recorder of Deeds as they relate to the Board of Assessment records for ownership, legal description, address and tax parcel number(s).
- Confirm legal descriptions in various types of documents as they relate to the tax parcel number(s).
- Working knowledge of legal descriptions, tax parcels, measurements such as acreages and square footage.
- Working knowledge of Recorder of Deeds’ Landex system as it relates to the Board of Assessment’s database.
- Ability to understand legal descriptions in deeds, mortgages, satisfactions, easements, assignments, and rights of way.
- Parcel certification of subdivision plans being recorded in the Recorder of Deeds office.
- Process documents received by e-file from the Recorder of Deeds office.
- Forwards discrepancy notices to Recorder of Deeds where documentation contains errors.
- Operates office equipment such as a typewriter, copier, calculator, scanner, cash drawer and computer
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

- Ability to work effectively with the public.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Keyboarding skills of 35 wpm.
- Some knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic and the ability to make arithmetic computations and tabulations accurately and at a reasonable speed.
