The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office is offering a $2,500 recruitment incentive after successful completion of the required training period. $1,000 is paid after completion of training, generally lasting twelve to sixteen weeks. The additional $1,500 will be paid eight weeks after the completion of training. Then, to reward your commitment to the department and community, employees are eligible for a $500 / month retention incentive following 6 months of employment, subject to attendance criteria.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include supervision and control of inmates within the housing units, corridors and work areas at the Calhoun County Correctional Center. Enforces rules of conduct, assists in averting riots and escapes through routine inspections.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
No Felony convictions
Must possess a valid Michigan Driver's License
Must be a US Citizen
Ability to comply with all Michigan Sheriff's Coordinating and Training Council (MSCTC) standards.

Interview Process
Pass oral interview, background investigation, drug screening, medical and psychological evaluations. Completion of the EMPCO Local Corrections Officer Exam and Local Corrections Officer Physical Agilities Test are also required.
