What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Registrar position at County of Chester?
- Train current, new, and temporary staff on voter registrations and ballot applications.
- Interview potential staff and perform yearly evaluations.
- Serve as the main point of contact between the registrars and the Department of State.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the SURE VOTE system.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the SURE VOTE system.
- Execute poll book printing, collaborating with outside print shop.
- Collect and prepare registration statistics for the Director to submit to the Board of Elections and the Department of State.
- Coordinate mass-mailings, such as Five Year Notice, AVN's, ERIC's, working with other departments as needed.
- Oversee daily workflow operations, ensuring applications are being processed accurately and efficiently.
- Oversee Voter Services call center on Election Day, ensuring Election Officials and Voters are being assisted efficiently and properly.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager for Satellite Office staffing and training.
- Maintain the Confidential Voters, ensuring process is handled in a discreet and confidential manner.
- Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience and training
· Knowledge of Federal and Pennsylvania election laws, codes, and general; principles and practices of organization, administration, and management.
· Ability to interpret and effectively apply regulations as the relate to HAVA and elections; recognize training needs.
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
· Ability to multi-task and carry tasks to completion.
· Ability to maintain professional demeanor when dealing with internal/external customers.
· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
