The SSS III provides entry-level administrative support and clerical duties within their respective department. This position requires basic organization, computer and typing skills.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have:
- Provide clerical support (typing, filing, copying, processing paperwork, etc.)
- Receptionist duties ( answer phone, direct inquiries to the proper department/person)
- Ensure all incoming call are answered courteously.
- Direct the public (over the phone and in person) to the correct person or department.
- Constituent services - Ability to remain calm in this position is critical, as there is exposure to difficult people, the receptionist must project a professional image of the office even in stressful situations.
- Provide excellent customer service to elected officials, department heads, supervisors, employees and the public.
- Handle confidential matters
- Serve as a department liaison for room reservations, building management, housekeeping and the mailroom
- Receive , sort and distribute mail in a timely manner
- Ensure accurate data entry
- Maintain and order office supplies
- Strong Outlook Calendar skills
- Read, scan and update newspapers for articles related to the County
- Knowledge in Excel, Word, Outlook, Mail Merge, scanning documents, etc
- Coordinate and plan special events
- Must have strong spelling, grammar, typing and editing skills
- Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required, including helping other staff members with various tasks.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Six months to one year of general office experience (typing, clerical, filing, copying, etc.).
- Ability to maintain confidential information and handle confidential matters.
- Basic spelling, grammar and math skills.
- General computer knowledge.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interface with all levels of county management.
- Basic typing / word processing skills (minimum of 40 wpm).
- Ability to use office machines (fax, copier, calculator, etc.).

- One to two years of general office experience and skills.
