The SSS IV provides intermediate administrative support and clerical duties within their respective department.
- Obtain list of scheduled cases from the DA’s office, prepare files for potential Drug Court, Mental Health Court, Recovery Court and Veteran's Court applicants, pull files and type orders for clients who are going into the program.
- Provide secretarial support to all Treatment Court attorneys and serve as liaison between the DA’s and the PD’s.

- Provide secretarial support to all Treatment Court attorneys and serve as liaison between the DA’s and the PD’s.
- Schedule appointments, type assignment letters and various correspondence to clients after ascertaining whether and/or where they are incarcerated.
- Transcribe preliminary hearing and investigation report tapes.
- Type and file legal documents such as motions, petitions and orders directed to attorneys' judges.
- Close files, which includes assembling papers in their proper order, obtaining the last closed file, consolidating the proper files, coding files with the appropriate disposition code, and entering the closing information in the database.
- Research Karpel database and provide client information to attorneys.
- Process Treatment Court files (Drug Court, Mental Health Court, Veterans Court, Recovery Court)
- Prepare files for potential Drug Court, Mental Health, Veterans and Recovery Court applicants, pull files, and type orders for drug court clients who are going into the program.
- Admin Assistant for trial attorneys as well as treatment court attorney
- Update Karpel (Case Management System) with documents, court dates, etc.
- Typing and data entry (prepare and distribute lists, transcription, maintain statistical data, proofreading).
- Clerical duties (fax, copy, print, etc.) as well as ordering and maintaining supplies.
- Maintain databases, logs and spreadsheets.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail.
- Filing and indexing (locate and pull files, re-file, update and maintain records).
- Perform special projects as assigned (e.g., research, training, run errands, etc.).
- Perform other duties, tasks and office functions, as required (e.g., attend meetings, facilitate meetings, etc.).
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), six months of general office experience, or any combination of education and experience.
- Accurate and detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use office machines (fax, copier, calculator, etc.).
- Strong grammar and spelling skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and proceed with objectives.
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of county management.
- Exhibits a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new tasks.
- Ability to establish priorities and remain focused on daily operations
- Ability to follow office protocols and resolve routine problems along set parameters.

- General knowledge of the criminal justice system and procedures
- Strong knowledge of policies and procedures used by Chester County Courts.
- Knowledge and understanding of County of Chester policies and procedures.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have:
- Intermediate Office Suite Skills, (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Explorer)
- Intermediate Outlook skills (Email and Calendar)
- PeopleSoft Financial and/or HR skills or the ability to learn PeopleSoft
- Strong typing skills (minimum of 50 wpm).
