About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Senior Engineer to join our team at the County of Chesterfield. This role will be part of the Development Section in the Department of Utilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing land development proposals and ensuring the orderly expansion of the county water and wastewater systems. This involves reviewing site and subdivision construction plans, zoning requests, and other community development applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review proposed developments' impacts on existing water and wastewater systems.
- Evaluate water distribution and wastewater collection systems using field data and engineering practices.
- Prepare and review reports, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and contracts.
- Interact with the public, collaborate with agencies, consulting firms, and internal/external customers.
- Host or attend meetings with presentations.
- Use GIS Mapping software to answer public inquiries and collect system data.
- Train to use Innovyze (Infowater) to run hydraulic flow tests for the county water system.
- Respond to customer inquiries about extending or connecting to the county water and wastewater systems.
