What are the responsibilities and job description for the Detention Center Facility Maintenance Technician position at County of Dare?
Responsible for maintaining, building and or replacing Detention Center signs as needed. Responsible for hand rostered wood signs, nameplates, street signs, mailboxes, street address post and fence posts. Works on Detention Center vehicles. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician.
- Responsible for Detention Center signage, wood signs, street signs and etc.
- Repairs damages done by Dare County vehicles.
- Responsible for carpentry, concrete work, moving furniture, painting, maintenance and plumbing work.
- Performs other assigned duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Dare County operations, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Skill in the use of computers and software applications related to the essential functions of the job.
- Skill in effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
- Skill in the use of various types of office equipment (e.g., copier, fax, document scanner, multi-line telephone system, etc.).
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other personnel and the public.
- High school diploma or equivalent or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Not have a prohibitive criminal, civil, or driving record.
- Medical examination and drug screen required.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
