What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mosquito Control Technician ( Part Time) position at County of Dare?
This is a part-time position (typically April until October or November). Able to work late hours from 6:30 pm until route is finished, possibly midnight. Work schedule varies from 5 to 20 hours per week depending upon weather. Additional work hours involving other mosquito control activities may be added on as needed basis. Performs intermediate semiskilled work eradicating mosquitos, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Vector Control Supervisor.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license.
- Prepares truck for nightly pesticide spray.
- Operates fogging equipment on designated routes; applies approved pesticides and larvicides in an effort to minimize infestation.
- Performs equipment maintenance.
