What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Airport Worker position at County of Door?
This position is responsible for mowing and minor building and grounds maintenance at the Airport and is under the direction of the Airport Maintenance Superintendent.
Candidates will have to pass a functional capacity test prior to hire.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for cutting grass around runaways, taxiways and buildings.
- Responsible for maintaining equipment – grease, change oil and filters, check for broken parts, clean radiator screens, change bulbs, check / change belts and tires and power wash.
- Plant grass seed and fertilize.
- Painting, repairing fences, lawn / yard maintenance, tree and shrub trimming and small building repair projects.
Required Training and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current valid driver’s license.
Preferred Training and Experience
1. One (1) year of responsible work experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Ability to drive pick-up trucks.
- Ability to operate larger tractors with attachments and heavy-duty roller
- Ability to operate push mowers and trimmers
- Ability to use hand and power tools, shovels, rakes, saws, etc
- Ability to use chain saw, limb trimmer and chipper for brush and limbs
- Ability to use tact and courtesy in maintaining an effective working relationship with department employees, county supervisors, county officials, and general public.
