We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Planning Intern within the DuPage County Division of Transportation to assist with transportation planning and asset management.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 30 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Use of arm and /or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than for light work.
Work Environment:
The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties and responsibilities the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, loud noise, noxious odors, dusts, poor ventilation, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, oils, electricity, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, intense noises, travel, and other related conditions and situations.

This position is eligible for Paid Leave hours at a proportional rate based on the number of hours regularly scheduled to work.
Projects will include:- Collecting inventory of traffic signals, pedestrian and trail features and other Division of Transportation assets
- County Highway system performance measurement, safety research and statistical analysis
- Geodatabase development and management
- Assistance with asset management, and preparation of asset condition reports and mapping
- Research related to transit, state and federal grants, demographics, census data and other large digital data sources
