We are pleased to offer the opportunity for a full-time Life Enrichment Aide at DuPage County Care Center. This position involves direct contact with residents providing leisure activities on an assigned basis.

Responsibilities include:
- Assists to proactively determine and the leisure needs of the residents.
- Assists with planning and conducting appropriate unit based, group and 1:1 leisure activities
- Assists with providing appropriate communication tools and interventions to meet care plan goals
- Decorates assigned areas to reflect the current seasons, holidays, or upcoming special events which contribute to the maintenance of physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being of the residents
- Provides individualized attention and encouragement in the involvement of activities
- Assists with in-house transportation, feeding, hydration and other personal needs of the residents
- Assists in the maintenance and storage of special equipment and supplies for recreational activities
- Documents attendance, as well as progress toward achievement of goals for individualized resident activities
- Provides appropriate interventions (e.g., leisure engagement activities) to lessen the potential of wandering and behavioral issues
- Participates in fund raising activities directly related to the department
- Participates in facility-wide quality improvement initiatives and projects
Requirements include the following experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience:
- Completion of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma equivalent
- Six (6) months experience in recreation, education, working with seniors or the developmentally disabled
