We are pleased to offer the current job opportunity for a Personal Computer Technician position within the Information Technology department. This position will be providing technical support to desktop and laptop computers and peripherals and end users support.

Responsibilities include:
- Installs new technology related equipment including desktops, laptops, printer, and other peripheral equipment
- Deploys software and patches for all county issued desktop and laptop computers, utilizing automated technology where possible
- Tests and debugs hardware and software installations
- Contacts vendors for solutions to hardware or software related issues
- Documents problems and resolution for future reference
- Instructs users on utilizing and accessing all applications installed
- Prepares training documentation related to equipment use
- Examines malfunctioning equipment, identifies issues and determines appropriate course of action
- Maintains inventory of desktop, laptop and related equipment including location changes and/or disposal of equipment
- Engages with end-users to analyze and correct problems
- Supports audio visual and conferencing equipment: including - Setting up AV equipment such as microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, and televisions before events and ensuring everything is properly dismantled and stored afterward; providing on-site support during events to manage sound levels, video playback, presentations, and other AV components, ensuring a smooth experience for presenters and attendees; managing AV control boards, mixing consoles, and other equipment during live events to maintain audio and visual quality.
- Participates in 24x7 On-Call rotation
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Completion of an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and one (1) year of experience in computer system set-up and operations; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
The preferred candidate will have:
- Experience with current Windows operating system
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365
- Basic knowledge of networking protocols
- The ability to translate technical terms into non-technical terms for end users
