General Statement of Duties
Responsible for the County’s computer systems, superior customer support, and technical excellence. Position is responsible for peripheral equipment and providing support for users’ software and hardware needs.
Classification Summary
This position supports technology systems and applications; installs, configures, upgrades, monitors, debugs and maintains personal computers and peripherals, mobile data and wireless equipment, other technology and information-based systems specifically related to public safety functions; aids and instructs system users.
This position works under the direct supervision of the IT Manager and may be required to work in adverse weather; occasional nights/weekends/holidays; under desks; in attics, walls and basements; occasionally lift heavy items, up to 50 lbs; and maintain a friendly, professional attitude with other employees and elected officials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Illustrative Only)
- Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, printers and scanners, and other related items.
- Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests
- Provide technical support to all departments of the County
- Set up accounts and workstations for new users
- Repair and/or replace equipment as necessary
- Upgrade systems when required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:

- Microsoft operating systems
- Information analysis and computer hardware/software systems
- Diagnosing and solving hardware/software issues

Acceptable Experience and Training
- High School/Homeschool Diploma or GED
AND
- 2-year minimum in troubleshooting information technology and computer systems
- (Preferred) Higher education in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline
OR
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform work.
Special Qualifications
Must currently hold, or obtain within one year of date of hire:

Required:
- Valid Idaho Driver’s License
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check, drug test, polygraph test and psychological evaluation

8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with occasional work after hours and weekends as needed for projects or emergencies. This is an in-person position.
