The Fresno County Public Library invites applications for the position of Graphic Arts Specialist. The incumbent designs, develops and coordinates production of graphic communications utilizing graphic design software; and performs related work as required.Fresno County is working together for a quality of life for all. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Graphic Arts Specialist candidates must qualify under one (1) of the options listed below: OPTION 1:Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Communications, Visual Communications, or a closely related field that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system.Experience: One (1) year of full-time, paid work experience in graphic communications, commercial artwork or reprographics which involved the use of graphic design software.OPTION 2:Education: Completion of sixty (60) semester units of coursework, including fifteen (15) semester units in Graphic Design, Graphic Communications, Visual Communications or a closely related field that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system.Experience: Four (4) years of full-time, paid work experience in graphic communications, commercial artwork or reprographics which involved the use of graphic design software.Substitution: An additional thirty (30) semester units of coursework that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.In addition to the options listed above, the following may be required: License: Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent, may be required.HOW TO APPLY: Applications must be submitted online only. Please Note: The eligible list for this recruitment may be extended up to 12 months, and may be used to fill both extra-help and permanently allocated positions. Individuals selected for extra-help appointment may be transitioned to a permanently allocated position at a later date as authorized by the Fresno County Personnel Rules.REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS: Positions in this classification are in Medical Group II - Moderate Physical Activity (Personnel Rule 8). This group includes positions which require moderate physical effort using arms, legs, back, and trunk in frequent lifting, pushing or pulling of objects weighing (or offering resistance equivalent to) 10-25 pounds, and occasionally over 25 pounds. Generally, bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, as well as standing and walking are involved.
