What are the responsibilities and job description for the Probation Officer position at County of Goodhue?
Goodhue County is actively recruiting qualified applicants for the Probation Officer position in the Court Services department. The Probation Officer administers a caseload of clients to monitor compliance with court-ordered terms of probation.
Examples of work:
- Collects pertinent social case history data from offenders.

Develops and carries out case plans for persons on supervision, monitors offender
progress and compliance with Court orders and requirements. -
Maintains accurate and complete case histories and other records relating to individual offenders, records contracts in case files and reviews progress on cases with
supervisor. - Organizes data into a report for use by a Judge who determines the disposition of a case. Completes pre-sentence and pre-disposition investigations, and/or alcohol problem assessments under the direction of the Court.
- Collaborates with government and/or community agencies for the purpose of delivering effective services.

Makes Court appearances regarding offenders, provides recommendations and direction for Court action, provides written and verbal information concerning offender
adjustments, may recommend termination or extension of supervision when appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Corrections, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Law Enforcement, Psychology, Social Work or Sociology or related
field or equivalent - Six months experience as a Court Services Agent or equivalent
Salary & Benefits
County employees receive competitive pay and a generous benefit offering. The full salary range for this position is $34.48 - $53.46 per hour with starting salary at $34.48 - $36.21 depending on qualifications.
