What are the responsibilities and job description for the RECORDS DEPUTY position at County of Goodhue?
Goodhue County is seeking qualified applicants for the Records Deputy position in the Sheriff’s Office. The Records Deputy is responsible for assisting in the management and preservation of records and other vital documentation for the Goodhue Sheriff’s Office, and to provide clerical support to the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division as assigned as well as being the first point of contact for visitors to the Goodhue County Law Enforcement Center.
The Records Deputy must be an effective communicator—tactfully responding to visitors who may be irate, intoxicated, resistant, difficult or emotionally disturbed. This position is expected to complete job duties and meet associated deadlines despite frequent interruptions from the public, staff and telephone. The Records Deputy must maintain working knowledge of applicable laws, statutes and changes in Minnesota Offense Codes.
The primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Collects and enters data into various software programs; generates necessary reports.
- Transcribes statements for internal clients.
- Collects and receipts monies as well as documents and applications.
- Receives, sorts and distributes mail and packages.
- Provides clerical support for the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office.
- Other duties as assigned.
