Goodhue County is seeking qualified candidates for a Solid Waste Manager. The Solid Waste Manager oversees and directs the Goodhue County Recycling Center which includes responsibility for the County’s Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Management Program and development and implementation of a County Solid Waste Management Plan acceptable to the County Board. This position supervises recycling center staff and staff assisting with HHW. Duties include assessment and procurement of equipment and materials need to sustain operations as well as staffing management.

Minimum Qualifications
- This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental studies, public affairs, planning, or similar field; or an Associate’s degree in environmental science or similar field with 5 years of relatable experience; or 10 years of management level experience overseeing solid waste operations or related field.
- A valid Class A Driver’s License
- Experience using Microsoft Office Applications

- Grant writing
- Experience in marketing programs
Salary & Benefits
County employees receive competitive pay and a generous benefit offering. This position is compensated at a Grade 111 ($63,606 - $98,571) on the County pay scale with the starting compensation depending upon qualifications.
The County's comprehensive benefit package includes medical and dental insurance, health savings account, employer paid life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, retirement plan, tax deferred compensation, generous vacation and sick leave as well as 13 paid holidays per year.
