General Statement of Duties

Performs pre-employment physicals, medical evaluations and injury assessments as well as other related duties for the Employee Health Services Clinic in the Department of Human Resources on an hourly basis; does related work as required.
Essential Duties
Henrico County Human Resources is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical services in our employee health clinic. This role involves performing physical exams, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, utilizing specialized medical equipment, and delivering training to County employees. The ideal candidate will have strong decision-making skills, the ability to respond to medical emergencies, and proficiency in maintaining electronic medical records.
- Perform physical exams, diagnose conditions, and prescribe appropriate treatment.
- Utilize specialized onsite medical equipment such as EKG, audiometers, and spirometers.
- Provide basic life support in medical emergencies and assist in moving individuals in distress.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and utilize office/computer equipment effectively.
- Develop and deliver health-related training to County employees.
- Act independently and make critical decisions in urgent situations.
- Communicate effectively with employees and staff, both verbally and in writing.

Additional Information
This is an hourly position and will likely not exceed 29 hours a week. Clinic hours are 8:00 a.m.-4:30p.m., Monday- Friday.
This is a relief pool position and the successful candidate will be expected to be available during times of lower staffing during normal business hours.
A criminal history record check and fingerprinting is conducted on all persons conditionally offered employment, including a conditional offer of initial employment, or a conditional offer to promote, demote, or laterally transfer an employee.
Must possess and maintain a current license as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
