Plans, organizes and engages in paraprofessional and highly skilled technical work in support of agency management or programs; does related work as required.
Essential Duties
Seeking a part-time Management Assistant to support the Keep Henrico Beautiful program.
Duties may include:
- Presenting environmentally themed topics to school-aged children and adults.
- Coordinating volunteer efforts.
- Managing data.
- Representing the agency at public events
- Working in a garden or other outdoor space which may include lifting, loading, unloading, pushing, reaching, digging, walking/working on wide variety of outdoor terrains.
- Does related work as required.
Demonstrated skills in:
- Knowledge of basic techniques in conducting research, planning and statistical work.
- Ability to effectively use common business software packages.
- Ability to assist with the management of department programs.
- Interpret regulatory and program policy information and formulate compliance strategies.
- Ability to measure program performance against goals and objectives.
- Ability to systematically compile data, interpret and report monitoring and evaluation findings.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in written form.
- Ability to work effectively with other employees and with the public.
- Ability to exercise discretion and to make sound decisions relative to their assigned program area.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of an associate's degree with courses in accounting, business or public administration, statistics, report preparation, research and/or planning, and three years experience relevant to the program or service area to which assigned; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Additional Information
Part-time positions work a maximum of 29 hours per week. Based on the needs of the program, the working hours may vary between 15 and 29 hours per week. The expected hiring range is from $20.06 to $21.53 per hour.
College students in Environmental Science, Education or Marketing are encouraged to apply.
This position will require travel throughout the County. The two primary work locations are the Armour House and Gardens (4001 Clarendon Road) and the Woodman Road Public Utilities Building (10401 Woodman Road).
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds or more as needed.
A criminal history record check and fingerprinting is conducted on all persons conditionally offered employment, including a conditional offer of initial employment, or a conditional offer to promote, demote, or laterally transfer an employee.
May require a valid driver’s license to perform assigned duties at various locations.
