General Statement of Duties

Inspects the work of contractors on construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications; does related work as required.
Essential Duties
- Knowledge of modern principles and practices of engineering as applied to the construction of road, utility pipeline projects, or pump stations and treatment facilities.
- Knowledge of surveying; knowledge of street, water and sewer, heavy civil construction practices.
- Ability to manage multiple construction projects at once.
- Ability to produce clear and accurate as-built drawings at the completion of construction projects.
- Ability to work effectively with contractors and the general public.
- Displays good engineering judgment related to construction activities.
- Incumbent’s physical condition permits activities including, but not limited to, walking long distances, climbing, bending, driving and working under adverse temperatures and/or weather conditions.

This position reports to the DPU Construction Division at 10401 Woodman Road.
This position is part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career development opportunities within the position based on the performance, qualifications, and experience of the incumbent. This position may be filled at any level (I, II, III, IV or Senior) commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and the needs of the department at the time of hire.
Expected Hiring Ranges are as follows:
Resident Project Representative I - Graduation from high school or GED and completion of some relevant college or other relevant secondary coursework; two-year or four-year college degree in relevant field of study preferred; and two (2) years of relevant experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education and experience totaling two (2) years. $52,486.19 - $69,537.54
Resident Project Representative II - Graduation from high school or GED and completion of some relevant college or other relevant secondary coursework; two-year or four-year college degree in relevant field of study preferred; and four (4) years of relevant experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education and experience totaling four (4) years. $57,646.08 - $76,373.74
Resident Project Representative III - Graduation from high school or GED and completion of some relevant college or other relevant secondary coursework; two-year or four-year college degree in relevant field of study preferred; and six (6) years of relevant experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education and experience totaling six (6) years. $63,313.24 - $83,882.01
Resident Project Representative IV - Graduation from high school or GED and completion of some relevant college or other relevant secondary coursework; two-year or four-year college degree in relevant field of study preferred; and eight (8) years of relevant experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education and experience totaling eight (8) years. $66,352.45 - $87,908.56
Resident Project Representative Senior - Graduation from high school or GED and completion of some relevant college or other relevant secondary coursework; two-year or four-year college degree in relevant field of study preferred; and ten (10) years of relevant experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education and experience totaling ten (10) years. $69,537.54 - $92,128.41

A valid driver's license to perform assigned duties at various locations Countywide as required.
