General Statement of Duties
Interviews inmates to determine security level and housing assignments and coordinates the initiation and maintenance of inmate records and commitment status; does related work as required.

Essential Duties
This position assists in program planning, management, and evaluation for jail programs. Assists with data collection, researches, analyzes, and evaluates data; manages and maintains databases and systems associated with program services. Establishes, implements, and interprets policies, procedures, and programs. May interview and provide guidance to program participants. May oversee a key program activity. Provides needed updated materials that are useful in program development. Assists supervisor in grant preparation, program evaluation and monitoring activities, and transmittal of federal, State, and local policy and procedures to program operation’s staff. Assists supervisor in special projects; does related work as required.
Some knowledge of operating methods of detention facilities; some knowledge of interviewing techniques; ability to understand problems involving criminal behavior; ability to evaluate skills and potentials of inmates; ability to establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with inmates; good typing skill and/or familiarity with keyboard equipment; good judgment.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a bachelor's degree in corrections, sociology, psychology, or a related field; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of Virginia. Must be a citizen of the United States.
Maybe required to work at Jail West, Henrico County and Jail East, New Kent County.
