ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Economic Support Program

The Administrative Assistant provides experienced clerical support to the division head and office managers in the Division of Workforce Development. This position assists in case processing and customer service and requires technical knowledge of division procedures. Tasks are performed in accordance with Kenosha County policy. In addition, this position requires complete confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with customers and sensitive confidential client information. This position reports to an Economic Support Supervisor.

2025 Hiring Range: $20.31 - $23.08 per hour
Position Summary and Job Duties
Act as receptionist, providing customer service to visitors
Receive and direct phone calls and check voicemail daily
Explain program procedures, processes, rules, and requirements without providing legal advice
Identify and follow up on case discrepancies or missing information
Log, track, and update data, information, and documentation
Maintain files and records
Copy, scan, and save files
Compile data and draft monthly reports
Maintain and organize reception areas
Process incoming and outgoing mail
Format and prepare correspondence, reports, or other documents
Schedule meetings and maintain calendars
Order and maintain office supply inventory
Perform cashiering duties, such as collecting and processing fines and fees
Issue receipts and prepare deposits
Perform other work and duties as required or assigned
Success Factors

Division computer databases and activities
Basic math calculations and cash handling
Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Job Requirements, Education, Training and Experience
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent
One year of work experience in an administrative assistant or similar position
Preferred Education and Experience
Associate degree in Administrative Assistant
Bi-lingual proficiency (English/Spanish)
Or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
