FACILITIES MAINTENANCE SEASONAL SHORT TERM   The Kenosha County Facilities Division is accepting applications for Short-Term Seasonal Maintenance Workers for the 2025 season.   If you are a hardworking and self-motivating individual who enjoys the outdoors and can assist in the maintenance of County Facilities, this could be the job for you!  We are looking for staff who can maintain a safe environment, enforce rules, and consistently act in a manner that earns and merits the respect and confidence of patrons.   Kenosha County is committed to Diversity, Belonging and Inclusion and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.   2025 Hiring Range:  $16.00 to $22.00 per hour   WORK SCHEDULE Work hours are typically Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Mow and maintain lawns Operate all vehicles and equipment as assigned Perform general maintenance of buildings, grounds, flower beds, athletic fields, parkways Assist in forestry operations Other duties may be assigned   JOB REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Must be at least 16 years old at time of application Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of hire and maintain during incumbency, with acceptable driving record   SUCCESS FACTORS Knowledge of general maintenance work with the most efficient utilization of equipment Knowledge of safety precautions and procedures applicable to maintenance equipment Skill in the use of small hand tools and cleaning equipment Skill in outdoor semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to ground and facilities maintenance Ability to accept, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instruction Ability to work with limited oversight on projects and daily assignments Ability to work independently to meet deadlines Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with the public, employees, and others Ability to work respectfully in a diverse and inclusive environment   PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   Requires full range of physical movement – bending, reaching, lifting, etc. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds   WORK ENVIRONMENT Ability to work outside in any weather conditions, including temperature extremes   SELECTION PROCESS Application Review - Qualifying Oral Interview - Qualifying Background Check (if 18 years of age) - Qualifying Physical Examination/Drug Screen - Qualifying   If you require accommodations at any point in the selection process because of a disability, please notify Human Resources in advance for arrangements.   Applications must be submitted no later than Monday, March 31, 2025.   Kenosha County participates in the FICA Alternative Retirement Program.  Seasonal employees are automatically enrolled in this program if they do not meet eligibility criteria for the Wisconsin Retirement System (pension).  The FICA Alternative plan replaces the payment of FICA tax and instead contributes a percentage of pre-tax wages into an investment account for the benefit of the employee.   For more information about the Kenosha County Facilities Division, please visit:  https://www.kenoshacounty.org/501/Facilities   This position is located in Kenosha County, a growing community along the shores of Lake Michigan and less than an hour away from Milwaukee and Chicago.  To see why Kenosha County is a great place to live, work, and play, visit:  https://www.visitkenosha.com/   Thank you for your interest in employment with Kenosha County!    Kenosha County is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer.
