LIFE ENRICHMENT ASSISTANT Brookside Care Center   Are you searching for a rewarding work experience?  Join our fun-loving staff and help Brookside Care Center continue to be the "Best of Kenosha County" in senior care!   Brookside’s Life Enrichment Department is looking for adventurous, creative individuals who can be flexible and adaptable in a challenging setting.  Our mission is to cultivate an environment that promotes life fulfillment and dignity for our residents to celebrate their potential as individuals and as a community.   Kenosha County is committed to Diversity, Belonging and Inclusion and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.   2025 Hiring Range:  $16.42 - $18.66 per hour additional $1.00 per hour for valid CNA license   Work Schedule Full time, 40 hours per week, varied hours Range of work hours includes mornings and evenings Will work every-other weekend   Position Summary and Job Duties Assists with the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of a therapeutic activity program that meets the functional levels, needs, and interests of each resident Works directly with residents toward the fulfillment of treatment objectives and goals set in resident care plan Carries out specific programs including independent, recreational, religious, intellectual, and community-related projects and bedside activities Motivates residents to participate in activity programs Completes appropriate records indicating resident attendance and participation in individual and group activities in an accurate and timely manner Completes required assessments, forms, and documents in accordance with our facility’s policy and state and/or federal regulations Contributes to facility efforts to maintain and/or improve quality of care through participation in meetings and committees assigned by the Life Enrichment Manager Operates a bus or van in transporting residents to and from various programs Participates in in-service training programs Performs other duties as required or assigned   Success Factors Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to have patience and maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and organize work efficiently Ability to make decisions and accept responsibility for the consequences Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with residents and staff Ability and willingness to act as a role model in conduct and appearance Ability to remain professional and courteous at all times Ability to work respectfully in a diverse and inclusive environment Will be required to demonstrate the ability to operate the facility’s small passenger bus Understanding and awareness of the aging process and aging population Respect for resident rights and confidentiality Basic computer skills   Job Requirements, Education, Training and Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent One year of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years Education background in recreational therapy or related human service field and experience with event planning or hosting preferred Or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the job Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record   Benefits Great benefits are available to full-time employees and are pro-rated for part-time employees. This position involves medium physical demands, such as exerting up to 25 pounds of force frequently; walking, standing, squatting, crouching, bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, and pinching frequently and for sustained periods.
