JOB
Under direct supervision, assists in professional accounting tasks, including record preparation, maintenance, and review, adhering to County fiscal policies. Also performs fiscal analysis, auditing, and provides guidance to fiscal support and payroll staff. Undertakes additional tasks as required.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ACCOUNTANT ILicensing and Certifications: Possession of Certified Public Accountant license is highly desirable.Education and Experience: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.ORTwo (2) years of full-time technical/professional accounting/auditing experience (i.e. equivalent to County of Lake Accounting Technician or Senior Accounting Technician)One (1) year of full-time experience in performing accounting and fiscal control work is highly desirable.Additional directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.ACCOUNTANT II Licensing and Certifications: Possession of Certified Public Accountant license is highly desirable.Education and Experience: Two (2) years of full-time increasingly responsible fiscal management experience comparable to that of an Accountant I with the County of Lake.AndEquivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field or Two (2) additional years of technical/professional accounting/auditing experience (i.e. equivalent to County of Lake Accounting Technician or Senior Accounting Technician) may be substituted for the required education.Additional directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.
