What are the responsibilities and job description for the Capital Project Manager - Public Works Department position at County of Lake?
The primary role of the Department of Public Works (DPW) Capital Project Manager (Project Manager) is to manage the design and construction of multiple capital improvement projects. The projects could be road, landslide repair, bridge, and/or airport projects. Project Managers are responsible for managing engineering firms that design projects and construction management firms that oversee construction. Project Managers will receive assistance with engineering issues. Project Managers will coordinate with oversight agencies, such as Caltrans, that oversee project funding. An engineering degree is not required.
Licensing and Certifications:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid California Driver’s License.
Education and Experience:
Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in the development and oversight of construction projects, including experience in project administration.
Completion of a bachelor’s degree with coursework in engineering, construction management, or project management is desirable.
