Description :
The Lehigh County Law Library is in search of Part-Time Law Library Assistants to join our circulation desk team.
The Lehigh County Law Library is an office of the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas. The Law Library is located on the first floor of the recently restored Historical Lehigh County Courthouse at 501 W. Hamilton Street, Allentown, Pennsylvania.
The Law Library is open to the public Monday through Friday 8 : 00am to 4 : 30pm. The Law Library Assistants must be able to begin work at 8 : 00am and work until 4 : 30pm on scheduled days of the week. Law Library Assistants work approximately 16 to 40 hours per week per two-week pay period.
The Law Library Assistant must be able to conduct basic Law Library patron services unsupervised and unaided after a period of orientation. The individual must be knowledgeable of basic office procedures, basic library theory and practice, and familiar with accessing the print and online legal materials found in a law library.
Qualifications include a high school degree. Some college, legal, or library experience or training is preferred. The individual must have excellent reading skills, be a competent user of Windows Office computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access). Internet, and / or online research experience is important. The ideal applicant will be a well-organized, dependable, detail-oriented individual who can work well as part of a team. The Law Library Assistant must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to share a work load with other Law Library employees, to assist patrons in-person and to respond effectively and professionally to telephone / email inquiries.
