Job Description:
Family Court Supervisor duties include but are not limited to the following: Oversees daily functions of Family Court and handles any questions or immediate problems with staff or the public. Handles appointments of counsel for indigent parties in abuse and neglect cases, notifies all parties, attorneys and DSS personnel by email. Handles the appointments of mediators in Family Court contested cases; secures non English speaking interpreters for court cases and submits the paperwork to SC Court Administration for their payment. Monitors the 365 day report on a monthly basis. Processes the registration of foreign orders in private cases, handles emails, phone calls from public and attorneys. Processes incoming mail and distributes to appropriate party. Responsible for staying after 5pm when a judge is on the bench in case needed. Assists the public with filing for domestic abuse cases; serves as a backup to the docketing clerk for Emergency/Expedited Hearings. Other duties as assigned.
Additional Job Requirements:
Requires the ability to work closely with judges, attorneys and litigants. Must maintain strict confidentiality.
